BASIC JACK RUSSELL KNOWLEDGE

The Jack Russell Terrier is a British breed of small terrier. It is principally white-bodied and smooth-, rough- or broken-coated, and can be any colour.

It derives from dogs bred and used for fox-hunting in North Devon in the early nineteenth century by a country parson, Jack Russell – for whom the breed is named – and has similar origins to the modern Fox Terrier. Though closely similar, it is a distinct and different breed from the Parson Russell Terrier.[3]

Jack Russells are an energetic breed that rely on a high level of exercise and stimulation. It has gone through several changes over the years, corresponding to different use and breed standards set by kennel clubs. Recognition by kennel clubs for the Jack Russell breed has been opposed by the breed’s parent societies – which resulted in the breeding and recognition of the Parson Russell terrier. Jack Russells have appeared many times in film, television, and print – with several historical dogs of note.

ABOUT OUR PUPPIES

We’ve bred Jack Russells for quite a long time so we clearly understand the need to extensively socialize them at an early age. They are also overprotective of their owners. However, this is not the type of dog that’ll poorly react if a two-year-old child were to walk up and pull their ears. This dog may be reserved with strangers but is affectionate with his people.

We’ve managed to give this litter the best possible training and we can firmly say without fear that they would make great companions in their new forever homes. They are equally good with kids and other pets. The most reason why we keep the puppies till they are 11-12 weeks old is because the ideal age to test temperaments is 8 weeks. You can only start to see the temperament and personality and unique talents/drives of individual pups at around 8-10 weeks old,

This is important because potential new owners can know exactly which one of them is suitable for them. Again, to ensure that they have had all their puppy shots, and are in good health and mentally ready for potential new owners.

Lastly, The pups are separated from their mother appropriately and gradually. There is strong scientific evidence showing that when pups are separated from their litter mates and stable environment younger than 12 weeks of age they suffer a life with different degrees of separation anxiety and certain brain atrophy, their brain never actually develops fully. They will never be the confident fully developed dog they could have been.

OUR STORY

Thanks for visiting our website. I am called Harvey. I’m a married man with two kids; Joshua and Bradley. My wife’s name is Alicia Harvey. Harvey’s family are the owners of HILLTOP JACK RUSSELL PUPPIES. We have been breeding this lovely dog breed since 2012. With our knowledge of this lovely breed, my wife and I are out to help those interested in welcoming a new family member or in owning a Jack Russell. My knowledge about Jack Russell has grown as the years go by. This is a very smart and intelligent breed of dog that pushes us to our full potential. In that capacity, we get to learn new things every day. My history with owning and breeding this dog breed goes back to when I was still a kid. My parents owned a Jack Russell. Initially, we just wanted a new family member. A lifetime companion who was going to fill in the void our last dog (Terry) left in our hearts. My parents put a couple of things together and after deliberating for quite a long time, they decided we were going to get a Jack Russell instead. We did some research about dogs and behold, the Jack Russell was the most suitable for our household, based on the information and blogs we read online. At first, we thought it wasn’t going to work out for us. The truth is, whether a dog behaves properly or poorly, solely depends on the breeders and the type of training the dog had. Since my parents were very busy people both a doctor (dad) and nurse (mum) respectively, I was the one always at home with Kiki as she was called. The dog trainer would come from time to time and we’ll play dog sports together after training sessions. We got a female because researchers say the female Jack Russell has a greater territorial instinct. Kiki was my best friend then. She loved road trips so eventually, we used to hit the road a lot. We were best friends and everybody in our neighborhood back then knew about Kiki and me. It was such a love story. Unfortunately, we lost her due to health reasons. I was so sad and subsequently, suffered separation anxiety. After a few therapy sessions, I was able to move on. To put it mildly, my knowledge and experience with Kiki put me in a better position today.

Over time, we got another Jack Russell named Banky. This time, it was a male. My wife (then my classmate and neighbor) was lucky to be friends with Banky. Because we lived close enough to each other, we would walk Banky, take him to the park, play dog games together, and all whatnot. That is how she also learned a lot about Jack Russell. With my knowledge from owning Kiki and Banky, after we got married we decided to breed and own this lovely dog breed. We are state-registered Jack Russell breeders and we are glad to say we have helped more than 30 families to own this breed of dog with our years of breeding. My family and I are dedicated to helping households that think a Jack Russell is the ideal dog for them, own the perfect and dream puppy for their home.
