WELCOME
We trust you’re having a good time.
To begin with, we don’t breed Jack Russels to make some sort of gains or profits. We enjoy breeding them. I’m a man of my word, a Christian, and A family man. I have kids, I know what it means to run a household. Uprightness, transparency, and offering first-class Jack Russel puppies are our top priorities.
HILLTOP JACK RUSSELL PUPPIES is a state-licensed breeder. We can confidently say we raise and breed very healthy and strong Jack Russell puppies that can be a family pet, best friends, and guards. We are a dedicated family that is committed to raising first-class, marvelous, and formidable guard dogs with outstanding personalities and temperaments. We consider the quite minute things that other breeders ignore according to the survey. Like if a two-year-old were to walk up to a dog and pull his/her, they would not react poorly despite that Jack Russells in general will fight back (maybe bark or even bite). In other words, they’re good with kids. We do our utmost best to raise the healthiest puppies that can serve as a lifelong companion for your family. We’ve helped so many families including people with dog allergies, find the best and perfect pet for their homes. Our mode of operation is not anywhere near a traditional kennel. We treat each one of our puppies with love and concern, exactly how we treat our kids. If you are looking to own a Dachshund, you are in the perfect place. We also provide a guide for first-time owners as it can get complicated to get along with them on your own for someone who has never owned a Jack Russell.

The breed has a compact, muscular body. The Jack Russell Dogs Terrier Club of America standard calls for dogs to be from 10 to 15 inches in height, whereas the AKC standard calls for a smaller range of 12 to 14 inches. JRTCA show dogs are classified into one of two groups based on size, 10 to 12 1/2 inches and over 12 1/2 to 15 inches.
- Personality:
- The Jack Russell Dogs terrier is a happy, energetic dog with a strong desire to work. This breed is most happy when given companionship and a job to do. Digging is normal for a Jack Russell, especially if he decides it is his job to free your yard from rodents! Hunting ability is bred into them; it is their nature. The desire to hunt combined with a high energy level makes training a must for the Jack Russell. You will never win a battle of wills with a Jack Russell.
- Because he is a baying terrier, the Jack Russell can be vocal. However, these dogs are alert and make good watchdogs. The breed is naturally assertive and may not tolerate young children or other animals in the home. They especially can be aggressive toward other dogs.

- Given the personality of the Jack Russell, this breed is not for everyone. The hunting instinct cannot be trained out of the breed. These dogs instinctively see the family cat or hamster as prey. Some may be able to learn to get along with other pets if brought into the home as a puppy, but a potential guardian needs to consider the possibilities beforehand.
- The Jack Russell terrier needs lots of exercise and a home with a large fenced yard is best. The Jack Russell has an urge to explore and hunt and will wander off; many have been trapped for days in underground culverts and dens. If kept indoors, daily brisk walks are a must!
- The Long haired Jack Russell also enjoys going along on a hike or a long game of fetch. This is not the breed for you if you prefer a dog who will sit peacefully on the couch all day.
- History:
The Jack Russell terrier is a true working terrier. The breed takes its name from the Reverend John Russell, who bred one of the finest strains of terriers for working fox in England. The Jack Russell is a baying terrier, meaning the dog should flush out the fox with his steady barking but is never to kill his prey. The Jack Russell has been strictly bred for hunting since its beginning in the early 1800s.
Because of their broad genetic make-up, there is some variance in the standard of Jack Russell terriers. In fact, disagreement about leg length has caused the breed to be divided into separate breeds in England, where the longer legged dogs are called Parson Jack Russell terriers and the shorter legged dogs are called simply Jack Russell terriers.
In America, despite the greater popularity of the short legged dogs, the long legged dogs are the breed officially recognized as the Jack Russell terrier. The breed has been popular with the horse crowd for years.
Media exposure, especially the popularity of “Moose,” the terrier who plays “Eddie” on the television show “Frasier,” and “Soccer,” who stars in the children’s show “Wishbone,” have catapulted the breed to popularity.
The Jack Russell Dogs terrier is a newer member of the AKC terrier group, but that membership came amid protests from fanciers who feared AKC recognition was not good for the breed. The result is that two national associations exist for the breed, the original Jack Russell Terrier Club of America, and the newer AKC recognized Jack Russell Terrier Association of America.

OUR STORY
Thanks for visiting our website. I am called Harvey. I’m a married man with two kids; Joshua and Bradley. My wife’s name is Alicia Harvey. Harvey’s family are the owners of HILLTOP JACK RUSSELL PUPPIES. We have been breeding this lovely dog breed since 2012. With our knowledge of this lovely breed, my wife and I are out to help those interested in welcoming a new family member or in owning a Jack Russell. My knowledge about Jack Russell has grown as the years go by. This is a very smart and intelligent breed of dog that pushes us to our full potential. In that capacity, we get to learn new things every day. My history with owning and breeding this dog breed goes back to when I was still a kid. My parents owned a Jack Russell. Initially, we just wanted a new family member. A lifetime companion who was going to fill in the void our last dog (Terry) left in our hearts. My parents put a couple of things together and after deliberating for quite a long time, they decided we were going to get a Jack Russell instead. We did some research about dogs and behold, the Jack Russell was the most suitable for our household, based on the information and blogs we read online. At first, we thought it wasn’t going to work out for us. The truth is, whether a dog behaves properly or poorly, solely depends on the breeders and the type of training the dog had. Since my parents were very busy people both a doctor (dad) and nurse (mum) respectively, I was the one always at home with Kiki as she was called. The dog trainer would come from time to time and we’ll play dog sports together after training sessions. We got a female because researchers say the female Jack Russell has a greater territorial instinct. Kiki was my best friend then. She loved road trips so eventually, we used to hit the road a lot. We were best friends and everybody in our neighborhood back then knew about Kiki and me. It was such a love story. Unfortunately, we lost her due to health reasons. I was so sad and subsequently, suffered separation anxiety. After a few therapy sessions, I was able to move on. To put it mildly, my knowledge and experience with Kiki put me in a better position today.
